4. How does the World Cup group phase work?
The first two placed teams of the eight World Cup groups reach the round of 16. The group stage runs from 14 to 28 June 2018.


5. Can you still buy World Cup tickets?
From 18 April (11:00 CET/ 12:00 Moscow time) until 15 July 2018, the "last minute sales phase" will run via the FIFA Ticketing Portal. Tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis and subject to availability.


6. Do Swiss fans need a visa to enter Russia?
To visit the 2018 World Cup, visitors must have a FAN ID issued. The FAN ID is a small laminated card containing the photo and personal data of the holder. The FAN ID is mandatory for all spectators of World Cup matches for access to the stadium. Foreign citizens and stateless persons can enter the Russian Federation without a visa with the FAN ID. The foreign spectators of the football tournament can apply for their FAN ID on the website www.fan-id.ru The application for a FAN ID is only possible for holders of a valid World Cup admission ticket. The FAN ID will be sent by post to the fan's home address. Together with the ticket to a match, the FAN ID also entitles you to free travel on the special trains that run between the host cities of the World Cup matches. 


7. Where will the Swiss Team Delegation be located during the World Cup?

8. Can I attend training sessions of the Swiss national team in preparation for the World Cup?
Switzerland is preparing for the World Cup in Freienbach and Lugano from 22 May to 11 June. Information on the 7 public trainings can be found under "Trainings".
 

9. Which preparatory matches are still on the agenda before the World Cup?
The Swiss national team will play two more preparatory matches before the World Cup:
► June 3, 2018: Spain - Switzerland, 9 p.m.; Estadio de la Ceramica, Villarreal
► June 8, 2018: Switzerland - Japan, 7 p.m.; Stadio Cornaredo, Lugano


10. When will Vladimir Petkovic announce his World Cup squad?
Vladimir Petkovic will announce his squad at the House of Football in Muri on 4 June.
 

11. When will Switzerland travel to Russia?
The Swiss national team will travel to Russia on 11 June.
 

12. How did Switzerland qualify for the World Cup?
In a World Cup qualifying group with Portugal, Hungary, Latvia, the Faroe Islands and Andorra, Switzerland finished second behind European champions Portugal in the play-offs with a record number of points. Vladimir Petkovic's team qualified for the World Cup against Northern Ireland with a 1-0 away win and a 0-0 draw at home in St. Jakob Park. Group overview and table can be found here.
